How our Virtual Brown Bag Lunch-and-Learn Series works.

The Virtual Brown Bag Lunch-and-Learn series is starting the first week of November 2011, and here's what you need to know:

First: a brown-bag lunch-and-learn is where you bring your own lunch and come and sit around and learn something ...

Each month we will have two meetings:

The first meeting is the Wednesday meeting which will be a presentation by a guest speaker, who will present for just under an hour on a specific topic.  These sessions will be recorded on Live Meeting, and the recordings will generally be available within an hour of the presentation.

The second meeting is on Thursday (the very next day), and will be a Q&A session.  Usually these meetings will feature the same guest speaker (although some times we may include additional experts, an MVP panel, etc).  The Q&A will be moderated by @MWJComputing or @Jaykul, and will be primarily questions about the topic of the presentation (although general PowerShell questions are also allowed).

To enable as much as possible our world-wide PowerShellers to participate, we're taking three actions:

  1. The meetings take place at 1PM Eastern time (Chicago's noon-time lunch hour) to allow as many people as possible to join live (hopefully this means Europe can join us during their evening).
  2. All meetings are recorded and made available as soon as possible for watching by those who can't make the live meeting.
  3. Questions are accepted ahead of time starting immediately after the presentation via the comments on each meeting announcement here, as well in real time via Twitter, and the Live Meeting Q&A feature.

We would love to have you join us live for both the presentation and Q&A, or to watch the recording and submit questions for the Q&A ahead of time using the PowerShellGroup comments feature, or by tweeting with the hash tag #PSVirtual.
